The L.A. Clippers finally beat the Memphis Grizzlies. Led by bench reserve Kenyon Martin, the Clippers went on a scoring run to beat the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter 82-72. This playoff series victory which the Clippers won 4-3 means they have a second-round playoff matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. This isn’t an easier task for the mentally tough and minded Clippers, but this will test the Clippers’ mettle against the Spurs. The Spurs aren’t heavily favored to win the series, but they are likely to oust L.A.’s chances of reaching the west finals. The Miami Heat beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of their series. I think, the challenge for Miami, is holding their composure after trying to close out a series much like last series’ Game 4 loss to New York in the first round on May 7, 2012. Miami recovered in Game 5 and won their playoff series with the New York Knicks. You see, Miami had a chance to clinch a series victory in Game 4 on May 7, but failed to do so. The Heat are a talented bunch of players starting with Lebron James and Dwyane Wade. With this talent, it’s no wonder that they have star-studded egos. Since Miami’s victory in Game 1, the Heat have lost Chris Bosh to an injury in the second half of their playoff game. Hopefully, Bosh is okay and will be able to come back for Game 2.
